Shout out to the guys who came to replace my battery at 9pm on a Friday
Okay so this happened last week and I’m still kind of impressed. I was supposed to drive to RAK Friday evening for a family thing, load up the car with bags and snacks, and then nothing but clicking when I turned the key in my old Nissan Patrol. Total panic mode because it’s late, it’s the weekend, and every shop I called was either closed or said “sorry tomorrow morning earliest”. Almost gave up when a neighbour mentioned he’d seen a van from Battery Zone UAE doing mobile service in our area before. Gave them a call fully expecting voicemail but someone actually picked up, asked a few questions about the car model and year, and said someone would be there within an hour. I was skeptical but sure enough a guy showed up with a tester and the correct battery, swapped it in the dark with a headlamp, checked the alternator, and had me running in maybe 25 minutes. Didn’t even charge extra for the late call which I honestly would have paid double at that point. Anyone else had a similar experience with emergency stuff? Makes me think I should probably just replace batteries proactively instead of waiting for a Friday night disaster next time. Lesson learned I guess.
