  • Mebendazole 100 mg: Treatment for Hookworm Worm Infections

Posted by sofia on April 6, 2026 at 9:42 am

Mebendazole 100 mg is mainly prescribed to treat infections caused by several types of intestinal parasites. These include Pinworm , Roundworm , Hookworm, and Whipworm. These infections are relatively common, especially in areas with poor sanitation or where contaminated food or water may be consumed. Doctors often prescribe a single Mebendazole 100 mg dose for pinworm infections, though sometimes a second dose is recommended after two weeks to prevent reinfection. For other worm infections, the medication may be taken twice daily for several days depending on the severity of the infection. Mebendazole is usually well tolerated by most people. However, some individuals may experience mild side effects such as stomach pain, diarrhea, or nausea. To reduce the spread of infection, good hygiene practices such as washing hands regularly and keeping fingernails short are recommended during treatment.
