Finally did the inspection and walked away from the deal
I wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice last week about getting a pre-purchase inspection on a 2016 Mercedes GLE I was considering. I hired a company that offers Proficient Car Inspection Mussafah Dubai and they did a very thorough check. The report came back with some alarming findings. The car had evidence of a major front end collision that was poorly repaired, including a bent radiator support and mismatched paint on three panels. The inspector also found that the airbag control module had been tampered with. The seller acted surprised but I don’t believe him. I walked away from the deal and I’m honestly relieved even though I really wanted that car. The inspection cost me 650 AED but saved me from buying a potential death trap. I can’t thank this community enough for pushing me to get it checked. My question now is, should I report the seller or the VIN somewhere to warn others? I have the report with photos. Has anyone done that before? Also, how do I get my deposit back? The seller is being difficult. Any advice would be great. Thanks again.
